Getting Approved For A Mortgage

Process of getting approved for a mortgage

We know you are still working on improving your credit report, but we wanted to get you this information in advanced to help get you prepared if you are looking to purchase a home soon.

Here is what most mortgage lenders are looking for to approve you:

-620 to 640 FICO Mortgage Score
-Your Middle Score needs to be above 620
-At least 2 open, revolving accounts (credit cards, secured cards, etc.)
-Low debt-to-income ratio (55% or lower)
-Last 2 Year Tax Returns
-No late payments on a mortgage loan in the last 12 months.

To learn more, we created a video to further explain this process. Keep in mind, we aren’t a mortgage company and we advise that you always speak to a professional loan officer to get more details, but this is information we’ve gathered over time in dealing with various loan officers.
